Christian Dior Spring 2018 Runway Couture

I have never been so inspired and fascinated by a collection. I’ve always loved Dior gowns, but this collection was full of gowns that I could see on a pageant stage. But why is this collection so “wearable”? Simply because the colors and silhouette of these garments are purely classic. Black, white, and A-line. So elegant and aesthetically pleasing.

Another thing I love is the obvious contrast of transparency (sheerness and cutouts) versus opaqueness (masks). Every collection tells a story. Society encourages us to be open and share our entire lives on social media, to people we don’t even know. The masks represent the disguises we put on to try to match society’s standards of having the perfect life. Don’t believe everything someone puts on social media. We only show what we want the world to see, and keep everything else hidden.
